Bridge Medical Centre operates Advanced Access in conjunction with other Crawley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCCG) practices.
Consultations with members of our Health Care Team are by appointment only (including telephone) and can be made in person at the surgery, by telephoning the surgery during opening hours or by making an on-line appointment at any time. (Please note, due to the COVID 19 pandemic unfortunately online appointment bookings are not currently available, as we are required to triage patient's via the telephone before booking them in for a face to face appointment)
We offer pre-bookable appointments up to two weeks in advance, including telephone consultations. We will try and book you with your preferred member of the team wherever possible.
Our reception team are trained to actively signpost and help patients to navigate the health system, ensuring they can access the most appropriate health profession or service for their needs, with the shortest delay. When calling in to request an appointment you will be asked a series of questions in the interest of offering the best options available at that time for your condition. It is understandable that you may have reservations taking advice from an administrative member of staff as we are not clinically trained, however, it is important to remember that these staff have guidelines to work within and you will be directed to a medically trained professional to deal with your problem. We will not refuse an appointment if available, but will be suggesting alternative options for you.
We also offer urgent same-day appointments and to enable us to offer appointments within 24 hours, ALL on-the-day appointment requests are initially dealt with by a telephone appointment first. This will be carried out by one of the clinical team, who will be a Doctor or Nurse. (find out more about our triage system here).
If you would like a particular Doctor or Nurse, please advise and we will try and accommodate your request, however for urgent appointments that may not be possible.
Please note that members of the Triage team will only try and ring you once or twice for a telephone appointment, it is your responsibility to make sure you are free to take the call back.
Please do not ask for an urgent appointment unless it is really necessary.
If you have a long term condition and would like a longer appointment, please ask the triage doctor and they will gladly provide you with one.
If for any reason you are unable to attend an appointment please cancel your appointment so it can be made available to others.
