Dr ALUN COOPER (m)
BSc, MB, BS, MRCGP, DFFP Qualified 1979.
Dr Cooper is the senior partner at Bridge Medical Centre. In addition to his role as a General Practitioner, he has an active interest in osteoporosis and fractures, and is a National Osteoporosis Society Trustee and an authour of the National Osteoprosis Guidelines. He also works as an endoscopist at Surrey & Sussex Healthcare Trust. Bridge Medical Centre is actively involved in research under the guidance of Dr Cooper and the practice has been involved in many national, european and international studies over the last 12 years. |
Dr NIGEL MOHABIR (m)
MB, ChB, DRCOG, Dip Derm Qualified 1989.
Dr Nigel Mohabir is a partner in the practice and has over 15 years experience in General Practice. He has worked in the Australian Outback and also in New Zealand for 2 yrs before joining the practice as a full time partner in 1997 . He has a special interest in Dermatology and has worked in this area for over 10 years. He is now an accredited 'GP with Special Interest' in Dermatology(GPwSI), undertaking weekly clinics at Crawley Hospital as well as our monthly Cryotherapy clinics here. His other special interest is Diabetes and is Lead Clinician for Diabetes at the practice. |
Dr BRONWIN BARTMAN (f)
MB, ChB, DRCOG, DFFP, Qualified 1989.
Dr Bartman spent many years training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is our Women's Health and Family Planning lead. She has a weekly family planning clinic during which she also fit coils. She also runs one minor surgery clinic per week, removing small lesions requiring a local anaesthetic and does joint injections. She is the named visiting doctor for Worth School and also Ferndale Nursing Home, an EMI nursing home for patients with dementia. Dr Bartman is also our Palliative Care lead, regularly meeting with the District Nursing and Hospice team Nurses so that the practice can provide a co-ordinated palliative care service to our patients. |
Dr MEL FEGAN (f)
BSc, MB, ChB, MRCGP, DRCOG, DCH, DFFP, PG Dip Cardiology Qualified 1996.
Dr Fegan has a special interest in Cardiology and has recently completed a postgraduate diploma. She runs a weekly cardiology GPwSI clinic at Crawley hospital. She is also the practice lead clinician for chronic kidney disease, stroke, hypertension, heart failure and atrial fibrillation. She is heavily involved in training, and is responsible for supervising our GPs in training, as well as being a Medical Student Tutor for Brighton Medical Students. She has the diploma in child health and helps run the baby clinic as part of our child health surveillance programme. |
Dr LEONIE HYDER (f)
BmedSci, BM, BS, MRCGP, DRCOG Qualified 2001.
Dr Hyder joined the practice as a partner in 2006. She has an interest in training; has been a medical student tutor and is currently an FY2 doctor educational supervisor. Dr Hyder hopes to complete accreditation to be a GP trainer in the near future. She is also our Mental Health lead, carrying out annual mental health reviews, and forging closer links with the community mental health team. Dr Hyder has taken an active interest in the day to day running of the practice, as our appointments and access lead, and is continuing, along with the team, to further develop our appointments system to meet the needs of our patients. |
Dr JHANSI KAMALAKANNAN (f)
Associate GP MBBS, MRCGP, DFSRH, Diploma in Ophtlamology (India). Qualified in 1998, Dr Kamalakannan will be known as Dr Jhansi and she joined our practice in February 2011. She usually works on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday each week. |
